Where to spot
Inhabits the understory of humid montane cloud forests in the Andes from Venezuela to Peru.
How to spot
Listen intently for its unique song. Finding them requires patience, often waiting quietly near where a song was heard. They are extremely skulking.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most vocal and detectable during early morning and late afternoon, and especially during the breeding season.
