Most vocal during the early morning hours, especially at dawn, and sometimes in the late afternoon. It is present year-round in its specific high-altitude forest environment.
This species is named after Nikolai Przhevalsky, a Russian explorer and naturalist, reflecting its discovery by early collectors in its remote Andean habitat.
