Where to spot
Known only from a restricted range within the humid lowland forests of eastern Peru, specifically the department of Ucayali.

When to spot
Resident year-round. Best observed during the dry season months when forest trails might be more accessible.
This species was only formally described in 2013, highlighting the ongoing discovery of biodiversity in the Amazon, even for relatively conspicuous bird groups like antbirds.
