Where to spot
Rainforests and montane forests of New Guinea, the Bismarck Archipelago, and parts of the Solomon Islands.
How to spot
Look on the forest floor in dense, humid forests. It is often secretive, so quiet movement and listening for rustling in the leaf litter are good strategies.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active during cooler parts of the day, particularly early morning and late afternoon.
This species is known for its terrestrial foraging habits, spending most of its time on the forest floor searching for invertebrates.
