Inhabits humid tropical lowland forests, especially in the understory and forest edges, across parts of the northern Amazon Basin.

Look for its incredibly tiny size and quick movements on thin branches and vines. Listen for its extremely high-pitched, soft 'tsee' calls or almost imperceptible tapping. Requires immense patience and good hearing to spot.

Active year-round. Most active during the early morning hours. Vocalizations are very soft and high-pitched.
