This hybrid combines traits of the distinctive Eurasian Wigeon with the common Mallard, resulting in a variable appearance that can be a fascinating challenge for identification. Individuals may show characteristics from either parent in varying degrees.

Wetlands, lakes, and agricultural fields in Eurasia, occasionally seen in North America where Eurasian Wigeons occur as vagrants.
