Widespread throughout the main islands of Fiji, including Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Found in a variety of habitats from forests to urban gardens.
How to spot
Look for the small wattle behind its eye and its active feeding behavior. Listen for its loud, somewhat aggressive calls. Often seen in pairs or small groups.

Active and vocal year-round, especially during early mornings and late afternoons when foraging activity is high.
