The Cinereous-breasted Spinetail is a small, pale-bellied ovenbird with a greyish breast. It inhabits shrubby grasslands and cerrado habitats.
Where to spot
Grasslands, cerrado, and open shrublands in central and southeastern Brazil, eastern Bolivia, and northeastern Paraguay.
How to spot
Look for its pale underparts and listen for its distinctive, often accelerating, reedy calls. It typically forages low in dense grass and shrubs.
When to spot
Year-round. Most active in the early morning and late afternoon. Vocalizations can help locate it.
