The Chestnut-bellied Rail is a medium-sized rail found in New Guinea and parts of northern Australia. It is characterized by its dull olive-brown upperparts and distinctive chestnut-colored belly, often inhabiting dense vegetation near water. This secretive bird is more often heard than seen.
