Widespread across Central and East Africa, inhabiting a variety of wooded habitats including open woodlands, savannas, forest edges, and well-vegetated gardens.
How to spot
Look for its general greenish-olive and pale streaked appearance. Listen for its varied and often loud vocalizations. It can be seen foraging in the mid-story and lower canopy.
When to spot
Observable year-round throughout its range. Most active and vocal during the early morning and late afternoon.
This species is often quite bold and vocal, frequently seen singing from exposed perches, making it easier to observe than many other forest-dwelling greenbuls.
