Not yet spotted on Fladder
Spotted
A small warbler with plain grey upperparts and whitish underparts, characterized by a brownish or 'burnt' tinge on its throat and breast.
Where to spot
Dry woodlands, acacia savanna, and scrub in Southern Africa, particularly Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa.
How to spot
Look for the subtle brownish shading on its neck and upper chest. It is an active gleaner, often seen in the mid-strata of trees and bushes. Listen for its high-pitched, somewhat buzzy song.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Most active in the mornings. Breeding occurs during the austral spring and summer.
The subtle brownish wash on its throat is a key diagnostic feature, making this species distinct from other pale eremomelas.
