Found in humid lowland and foothill forests of central and eastern South America, including parts of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.

Scan the mid-story and subcanopy of humid forests. Look for its active gleaning movements and the distinct russet coloration on its back. Listen for its characteristic calls.
