Endemic to the Arfak Mountains in West Papua, Indonesia, inhabiting primary montane rainforests, usually at higher elevations (above 2,000 meters).
How to spot
Requires visiting its specific, remote mountain habitat. Look for the male's distinct blue head and back. It typically forages in the understory and lower canopy. Listen for its thin, high-pitched calls.
