Where to spot
Endemic to humid montane forests and cloud forests, primarily at moderate elevations in northern Peru.
How to spot
Look for it in the mid-story and canopy. The blue cap, green back, and yellow belly are characteristic field marks.
When to spot
Active year-round. Best observed in the early morning when foraging.
