How to spot
Often detected by its distinctive, melodious, whistled song. Look for it foraging quietly in the dense understory and mid-story. Its plain plumage can make it blend in well.

Year-round resident. Most active and vocal in the early morning and late afternoon.
This species represents the 'original' concept of the Thrush-like Schiffornis before the complex was split into multiple species based largely on song differences.
