The Striped Tit is a small, attractive tit species found in montane forests of East and Central Africa. It gets its name from subtle streaking on its underparts.
Where to spot
Inhabits montane evergreen forests, bamboo forests, and forest edges in East and Central Africa, typically at higher elevations.
How to spot
Scan the mid to upper canopy of trees in montane forest habitats. It often joins mixed-species foraging flocks.
When to spot
Observable year-round, most active during the cooler parts of the day.
The streaking that gives it its name can be quite subtle, requiring good views for proper identification.
