Where to spot
Widespread across the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia, found in deciduous forests, open woodlands, scrub, and urban gardens.
How to spot
Look in almost any wooded habitat. Its yellow underparts and black facial markings are good field marks. Listen for its clear, repetitive 'chip-chip-chip' or 'whee-whee' calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Most active during the day, particularly mornings.
This tit is highly vocal and adaptable, often one of the first birds to colonize new or disturbed wooded areas, showing its resilience and opportunistic nature.
