Humid lowland rainforests, particularly along rivers and streams, in the Guianas (Suriname, French Guiana) and parts of northern Brazil.
How to spot
Look for it in the mid-story and canopy, often joining mixed-species flocks. Its overall grey plumage with a slightly darker slaty back is a key identifier. Listen for its high-pitched, whistled calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active throughout the day, foraging in the mid-story and canopy.
This species is considered one of the rarer becards in its range, often found near forest streams and humid riverine habitats.
