Spotted
The Sind Warbler is a small, rather plain warbler, similar to the Common Chiffchaff but with subtle plumage and vocal differences. It often inhabits dense vegetation along riversides and wetlands.
Where to spot
Found in riverside vegetation, scrub, and wetlands in arid regions of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and parts of India and Iran.
How to spot
Search in dense riparian vegetation. Distinguishing it from other chiffchaffs requires careful observation of subtle plumage details and, crucially, its distinct song and calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident in many areas, but some populations may undertake local movements.
Often found in tamarisk and acacia thickets along riverbeds, this warbler shows a strong preference for these specific habitat types in its arid range.
