Look for its uniform brown upperparts and clean white underparts, lacking a distinct breast band. Observe its fast, agile flight over open areas and water. Often seen nesting in colonies in earth banks.

Year-round, resident. Most active during daylight hours.
This species was formerly considered a subspecies of the Plain Martin but is now recognized as a distinct endemic species to Madagascar, highlighting evolutionary divergence on the island.
